In an exclusive conversation, actor Aditya opens up about playing the intense and complex character of Dr. Vishwas in the upcoming show “Dr. Aarambhi.” Right from the beginning, he shares that he is fully prepared for the audience’s hatred, as his character will put Aarambhi through immense emotional pain — so much so that not only the protagonist but even the viewers will feel deeply affected. He believes that being hated for a negative role is actually a positive sign, as it means the character has been portrayed convincingly.
Aditya explains that Dr. Vishwas is a highly successful and renowned surgeon who owns multiple hospitals across India under the name “New Pulse.” Coming from a family of doctors, he is married to Dr. Aarambhi under forced circumstances. The marriage was arranged specifically to stop Aarambhi from practicing medicine and growing in her career, as his mother feared she might become more successful than her son. As a result, Aarambhi is emotionally and professionally restrained from the very beginning of her married life.
Talking about the nature of his role, Aditya describes Dr. Vishwas as a grey character — not loud or over-the-top, but calm, silent, and extremely manipulative. Instead of aggression, he uses silence as a tool to control and emotionally dominate Aarambhi, making the character even more dangerous and realistic.
He further reveals that although Dr. Vishwas never wanted to marry Aarambhi, he gave in to family pressure. He finds her boring and emotionally distant and is not romantically involved with her at all, despite being married for ten years and having a child together. Just weeks after the wedding, he meets Dr. Avantika at a medical conference in London and instantly falls in love with her. From there, he begins living a double life — presenting himself as a loving husband in public while being controlling and cruel in private with Aarambhi, and at the same time maintaining a passionate relationship with Avantika.
Aditya shares that the dynamic is completely reversed in both relationships — he controls Aarambhi, but in his relationship with Avantika, he himself is the one being controlled because he is deeply in love. He believes that with the right emotional motivation, anyone can be controlled, especially in matters of love.
Speaking about the audience’s response to the promos, Aditya says the feedback has already been extremely strong. Even before the show has aired, people have started commenting that they already hate Dr. Vishwas, which makes him confident that once viewers fully understand the character’s depth and negativity, the reactions will be even more intense.
When asked about his personal opinion on whether women should work, he strongly emphasizes that it is completely a personal choice. He explains that life keeps changing every moment, and so do priorities — for both women and men. Sometimes family comes first, sometimes career does, and it’s perfectly okay to take breaks, pause, and restart whenever needed.
On the core theme of infidelity in the show, Aditya admits that while he tries to justify Dr. Vishwas’ actions as an actor due to the forced marriage and his lack of love for Aarambhi, personally he believes there is no justification for cheating. According to him, wrong is wrong, no matter the circumstances.
Concluding the interview, Aditya shares that viewers can expect a powerful mix of emotional drama along with inspiring moments that will deeply connect with the audience. He urges everyone to watch “Dr. Aarambhi” on Colors and JioHotstar from Monday to Friday at 8 PM, promising a gripping and emotionally intense journey.
